WELDING EQUIPMENT REPAIR TECHNICIAN

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt
                                                                               
JOB SUMMARY: A Welding Equipment Repair Technician troubleshoots and performs maintenance on welding and cutting systems, subassemblies, and other parts. This position will be responsible for ensuring units function according to specifications or determining the cause of units’ failures by conducting a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests.

Accountabilities

  • Servicing welding equipment as needed to meet OEM specs
  • Reading test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications
  • Wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used
  • Testing functional performance of systems, sub-assemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity
  • Preparing parts orders and maintaining stock of repair parts for repair facility
  • Calibrating and certifying test instruments, welding power sources, and or misc. equipment according to specifications
  • Connecting units to be tested to test equipment
  • Reading dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance
  • Comparing results with specifications and records test data
  • Analyzing test results on defective units to determine cause of failure
  • Replacing defective wiring and components or records defects on tag attached to unit and returns unit to manufacturer for repair
  • Devising test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units
  • Generating repair invoices through customer service
  • Directing customer through troubleshooting process via phone, email, and on the shop floor
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and Experience

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; three – five years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics
  • General understanding of electronics, electrical controls, circuitry, electro-mechanical, and mechanics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting customer demand

  • Performing work during prolonged periods of standing (up to eight hours) is necessary

ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY:  The Accounting Specialist is responsible for billing customers, accepting credit card payments, and answering accounts receivable questions. To be successful you must possess time management skills and have general knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures.

 Accountabilities:

Billing

  • Verifies accuracy of billing data, correcting any order errors
  • Creates invoices according to company practices and balances batch totals
  • Assists with keying orders as required, recording amounts due for items purchased or services rendered
  • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, and any unique requirements
  • Processes credit card payment for customers and generates receipt via email when appropriate

Accounts Receivable

  • Provides support by answering accounts receivable questions
  • Balances credit card and cash transactions
  • Reviews and researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts for assigned customer group
  • Collaborates with Collections to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis
  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
  • Collaborates and requests support from Credit Manager as needed

 Misc.

  • Answers incoming phone calls, transfers calls, and takes messages as backup
  • Takes calls and answer questions from customers
  • Assists with rental invoicing
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounting department as needed

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, online portals and computers
  • Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, relevant experience may be substituted.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

RETAIL MANAGER

JOB STATUS:  Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Experience (CX) Specialist is someone who has a passion and drive for helping others.  The CX Specialist is responsible for enhancing the customer experience, and providing potential and existing customers with exceptional services.  This includes identifying customer needs, responding to customer queries, collaborating with internal departments to optimize customer services, and brand awareness

Accountabilities:

  • Providing, enhancing, and tracking customer experiences across in-person, phone, and online channels, devices, and touchpoints.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and teammates to enhance customer services and brand awareness.
  • Aligning customer experience strategies with marketing and e-commerce initiatives.
  • Communicates relevant information with customers and internal departments.
  • e. upcoming price changes, newly available products, newly stocked products, manufacturer rebates, related products, discontinued products, etc.
  • Showroom Responsibilities
    • Monitors and ensures timely assistance for showroom customers and visitors, (i.e. timely greeting, assistance, check out, and follow-ups/add-ons), and maintains teammate productivity.
    • Monitors and optimizes the overall customer experience (including but not limited to: consistency, speed, pricing, ease, appropriate level of depth and completeness of counter support and knowledge, and handling of returns and customer complaints).
      • Assists with hiring and training, as needed, to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.
    • Monitors, trains, and assists teammates in customer service, product promotions, product knowledge, and standard operating procedures at the counter.
    • Grows showroom store sales by seeking ways to better promote the store, product lines, and service within the store.
      • Monitors and optimizes average lines per showroom order.
    • Ensures the store remains clean, neat, and presentable at all times.
    • Monitors and coordinates showroom “sticker” pricing.
    • Promotes and ensures product registrations for welding equipment.
    • Monitors and maintains stocking levels in the showroom, purchasing parameters, and accuracy of inventory items on display in the showroom and sold at the counter.
      • Maintain displays of seasonal, new, and closeout products
    • Monitors and insures accuracy of inventory records for showroom stock.
      • Accuracy of serial number records with machines.
      • Participate and assist in annual physical inventory and cycle counts, as appropriate.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency with or the ability and willingness to learn Welders’ TIMS system and reporting tools and CX and CRM software
  • Solid knowledge of customer engagement platforms and channels
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a customer centered approach
  • Good verbal communication skills, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to act with integrity, reliability, and professionalism
  • Work 8am – 5pm M- F, Saturday (about once a quarter) 8am – 12:30pm Saturdays, and other times, as required

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business management or similar preferred, relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of two (2) years retail and/or customer relations experience, three (3) years preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • May need to lift up to 50 lbs., at times.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and working a mobile or desktop computer device.
  • Must be able to navigate access to Welders’ facilities.
  • Attend, as appropriate, meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn of new industry products and trends and make contacts with suppliers.
  • Minimal travel required.

LOCAL CDL DRIVER

JOB STATUS:  Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: As a Welders CDL HazMat Driver you will safely and efficiently load, transport and deliver cylinder gases to local customers.

Accountabilities:

  • Loading/unloading and delivering empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
  • Performing and documenting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections
  • Maintaining knowledge of and complying with all DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to follow provided route given from dispatch daily
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and legibly to submit at the end of each business day
  • Resolving or escalating any customer inquiries or issues as needed
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Maintaining cleanliness of vehicle
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Valid Class B CDL
  • HazMat Endorsement – (HazMat Endorsement is not required to apply but must be obtained shortly after employment begins
  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Clean commercial driving record – minimum 3+ years
  • Successfully completing of pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
  • Successfully completing of a company administered road test

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge or experience in gas, welding and safety supply industry is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Working indoors and outdoors
  • Must be able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
  • Occasionally working overtime as required

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to drive multiple types of vehicles, i.e., box truck and express van
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective relationships with current customers and vendors
